Ecclesiastical Patronage
Over the centuries the Trust has been involved in the building of a number of Christian churches in Sheffield. In many cases it became the patron of the living at those churches, that is, the body responsible for finding and proposing to the Bishop the person to be appointed as Vicar or priest-in-charge in that particular parish. The parishes where the Trust serves as patron currently are listed below. In addition, with Simeon’s Trustees, the Trust is the alternate patron of Sheffield Cathedral and has a special role in seeking out and recommending the person to be appointed as Dean of Sheffield whenever that post falls vacant.
